Penang Marathon 2014

Penang marathon is the most anticipated run of the year. We heard there's about 60k people participating in this run this year. Some claimed the registration was closed within a few weeks due to overwhelming response.

This year round many of our comrades are challenging the full marathon. Some came prepared with compression pants, salonpass muscle aids, vaseline and not forgetting the power gels. Even with preparations, some sores and blisters are unavoidable. Alas, all finish in great glory. Welldone!!! Marathoners! As kimmarun boy put it:

Sunday Ride to Sunshine Farm

This weekend our farm has got some special visitors, kimmarun boy bikers friends William and Sunny. They rode about 500km through the winding roads via Kuala Lipis. Its a challenging ride since its been raining non stop from yesterday noon this year end season.

The Rides

The Farm Visit

It has been raining heavily these few days. There is the plastic covers built above the vegetables to keep them safe from heavy downpour. With this, we may maintain a consistent production for supplying to our vendors.

Ah pa explaining about water sysyem used in the farm. Water are sourced from higher grounds. When there's heavy rain, the water may have more residues. Thus we need to ensure the water is filtered so that the water sprinklers will not fail,i.e stuck with small rocks.

Walking back to main farm, giving way to a truck passing through.

Bye bye bikers gang. They'd be enduring a long ride home to KL.

GALS TRIP: Mesmering Bali -Day 1

Daluman Villa

We stayed at a very nice villa in Seminyak. The location is at Jalan Nakula, Kuta,

Drive here using Waze: http://waze.to/lr/hqw3ysbc0z

Its a 2 bedroom villa, priced at rm600/approx. Usd200 per night. It has got a lovely pool(1.5m deep, 8ft×10ft). The place is very quiet at night. We love the place very much.

There's a pool between the 2 bedrooms.
The living area with a cozy sofa and dining table is shared. The most nicest part is you have a private pool all by yourself.

ULTIMO The Italian Restaurant

Thanks to our friends CK's recommendation, we manage to land our self in one of the hippiest yet value for money Italian restaurant in Seminyak. The food was delicious and the bill came up to 400k rupiah/ usd40 for four main course(pizza, raviolli, fried chicken and rissoto) plus 2 glass of housewine. It's really a MUST visit place. Please make reservation in advance. Without it, we waited for 30mins before getting a table.

DChais Farm @Kampung Raja

It's a beautiful sunny Sunday morning. We have got visitors from Kuala Lumpur. We brought them to visit some places, not the normal tourist spots.

1st Stop - Buy Corns

There are many stores selling cameron highlands corns. Unfortunately, many are planted in Ipoh. As such, these are not so juicy and sweet. Authentic ones can be bought from a 88 store near Kampung Raja. We bought the AAA grade ones RM2.50 for one.

2nd Stop - Buy Strawberries

Our favourite store is the one last from going back to KL through Simpang Pulai.

3rd Stop - DChais Farm

Our farm is situated on the way back to KL. There are a few types of vegetables, i.e Nai Pak, Choi Sam, Yam, Corns and Cabbage. It's a nice spot for Townkids to learn about nature. When we retire, we'd probably be opening this farm for visits. As for now, dad and mum are too occupied with the farm chores leaving no time to tend to visitors. If you do come to Cameron Highlands, do drop us a message. If we are here, we'd be happy to show you around.

Besides vegetables, we also have some beautiful flowers and big pond.

We enjoyed fishing in our man made pond, taking home 3 big fishes for lunch.
